The Cultural and Community Enrichment Series at 番茄社区 offers exciting opportunities for both students and the general public to experience and learn from artists, authors, business leaders, historians, philosophers, musicians, scientists, photographers, poets and other experts from around the world. These annual events are donor-funded and open to the public.

The Ed & Caren Murray Art Series presents

An Art Exhibit by Colette Smith

Aug. 12 - Sept. 8 in the Esther and John Clay Fine Art Gallery 

Gallery hours are Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

The artist reception will be held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 5 in the Surbrugg Prentice Auditorium Lobby/ Esther and John Clay Fine Arts Gallery.

The For The Love Of The Arts event aims to support the Communication & Creative Arts students at 番茄社区 and to celebrate the individuals and businesses that shape Cheyenne's vibrant arts scene through a silent auction. It's an opportunity to bring local arts and culture leaders to campus for an evening of amazing art, delicious food and drinks, live jazz music, and good company.

This year's event will be held at 6 p.m. on Sept. 7 in the Surbrugg Prentice Auditorium Lobby/ Esther and John Clay Fine Arts Gallery.

The Curt Kaiser Ethics Speaker presents

Lunch and Learn with Dr. Ryan Holston

Noon on Oct. 29 in the ANB Bank Leadership Center in the Clay Pathfinder Building

Ryan R. Holston teaches political theory in the Department of International Studies & Political Science at Virginia Military Institute.  Dr. Holston鈥檚 areas of scholarly interest include the study of tradition, political deliberation, utopianism, and the authority of science. Most recently, he published a book entitled Tradition & the Deliberative Turn:  a Critique of Contemporary Democratic Theory and he previously co-edited a book called The Historical Mind:  Humanistic Renewal in a Post-Constitutional Age, both with SUNY Press. Dr. Holston received his Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins University, his M.Sc. From The London School of Economics & Political Science, and his B.A. from Dickinson College.  In 2022, he was the recipient of VMI鈥檚 Matthew Fontaine Maury Prize for Excellence in Research and has twice received its Jackson-Hope Prize for Excellence in Published Scholarly Work.  He has also served as Editor at the journal Humanitas.  Dr. Holston has received a number of academic fellowships at institutions such as Roanoke College, the Center for the Study of Statesmanship at the Catholic University of America, and the James Madison Program at Princeton University.
